International Youth Environmental Challenge
An annual global competition where young people showcase innovative solutions to local environmental and climate challenges through essays, videos, speeches, or creative media.
Who can apply
Open to youth aged 18 and under. Junior participants are ages 13 and below; senior participants are ages 14–18. Individual and team participation is allowed. No prior experience is required. Parental or guardian consent is required for junior participants.
Why explore it
Builds an environmental project portfolio, demonstrates innovation and real-world action, and offers recognition through awards, certificates, and website features.
What you will need
- Submit a written essay of 500–1000 words, a 1–5 minute video, a recorded speech, or creative media.
- Submissions must be in English or include English subtitles/translations.
- Work must be original, with proper attribution for referenced sources.
- Projects must be accessible through a digital link such as Google Drive or YouTube.
- Participation may be individual or in a team.
- Parental or guardian consent is required for junior participants.
